Fall

Gather, preserve, and prepare.

Oklahoma City’s long fall means you can plant a second round of cool-weather crops.

    • August–September

    • Lettuce

    • spinach

    • kale

    • mustard greens

    • carrots

    • beets

    • turnips

    • radishes

    • green onions.

  • Garlic, shallots, and cover crops.

  • Pull tired summer plants, work in compost, and protect fall seedlings from lingering heat with shade cloth.

  • Stagger fall plantings every 2 weeks to extend your harvest into November
